Description:

A. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Update CAD drawings and models per instruction from Design Engineer.

2.Submit, track and support qualification of documents though Agile DCN process.

3.Write process or other work instruction documents as needed.

4.Issue interim or summary reports for circulation to engineering group, management and customers.

5.Participate in preparation or execution of product development tests, tooling or product installations.

Qualifications:

B. Education Required:

1.Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Degree program, completion of sophomore or junior level preferred.

C. Experience Required:

1.Prior Intern experience, preferably at defense contractor or other company focused in mechanical engineering or testing.

2.CAD training, Solidworks

3.Experience in fabrication preferred including some hands on machining with 3-axis, lathe, bonding (welding, epoxy or other means).

4.Agile or some other document control system experience preferred, not required.

D. Physical Requirements:

1.Some lab work requiring limited lifting.

In collaboration with the Technical Lead and Design Engineers, the ME Intern will help with completing project deliverables to support completion of program Tollgates and Milestones. Essential Functions and Potential Projects Include: * Development and Completion of Compliance Matrix * DFMEA * Risk Assessment * Design of Tooling for Test Fixtures * Development of Test Plans to support DFMEA and Compliance Matrix * Development of Bill of Materials to support cost models * Numerical Analysis to support Critical Design Elements * Participate in Group Design Reviews * Working in Configuration Management System to Manage Program Documentation * Support the implementation of key APD programs and processes * Conduct data reporting and analysis (qualitative and quantitative) across programs. Basic qualifications: * Enrolled in Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Proficiency in MS Excel, Solidworks and other business/Engineering software * Strong organizational skills Preferred qualifications: * Ability to adapt & respond effectively to a rapid and complex changing work environment * Communicate confidently, accurately, and effectively across all employee levels * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to support larger program goals. * Willingness to participate in hands on engineering and development activities. • Excellent interpersonal skills * Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create Fortive Hollister CA
