Summer 2024 ESY Program- Special Education Teachers

RSU5 is seeking caring, enthusiastic and energetic teaching support staff for our Summer 2024 Extended School Year (ESY) Program. The ESY program serves eligible students with academic, cognitive, social-emotional and/or adaptive needs, who require an extended program to support maintenance of skills and prevent regression. Special Education Teachers will be responsible for developing lesson plans and implementing instruction that targets goals and objectives identified by the students' IEP team. Data collection is required and as ESY progress update must be completed for each student. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for managing the classroom programming and schedules for students, paraprofessionals and communicating with families including and introduction letter. Instructional materials and goal data sheets will be provided by the student's case manager.

ESY will run July 8 - August 1, 2024

Monday through Thursday

8:30 - 3:30

• Freeport Middle School 6-8 / Freeport High School 9-12

Specialized Program

• Morse Street School K-2 / Mast Landing School 3-5

Resource

• Small Group Reading/Math Instruction

Requirements:

Must hold a valid Teacher or Ed Tech certification from Maine Dept. of Education.

Positions will remain open until suitable candidates are found.
