Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Summer 2024 Embedded Systems Research Intern in support of our Peraton Labs location in Basking Ridge, NJ.

This position will be remote daily.

Role and responsibility for this position:We are seeking an intern for Summer 2024 who will work on applied research projects in one or more key areas related to embedded systems research. Qualified applicants must be able to perform applied research and development in one or more key areas of interest:

• Static analysis of firmware for embedded systems

• Virtualization and rehosting of firmware in QEMU

• Fullstack software development

• Real-time OS implementation and debugging

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Requires High School diploma and some advanced level training.

• US Citizenship required.

• Must be enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a BS/BA, MS/MA or PhD degree majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Wireless Engineering or related field.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience working with Python, C/C++

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows platforms.

• Familiarity with the principles and technologies used in modern wireless networks.

• Ability to integrate, build, and test high-quality technical solutions.

• Effective communication and writing skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous hands-on experience through coursework, internships or independent project.

• A passion to learn something new every day and to stay up-to-date with developments in your field.

• Adept at independent problem-solving and comfortable with a general approach of taking initiative to find and develop solutions.

• Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas.

• Familiarity with modern agile development practices (Scrum and similar).

• Experience with wireless networking protocols.

• Ability to grasp the "big picture" and see beyond specific problems.
