This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Summer 2022 Structural Engineering Intern for our Nashville, TN office. Be involved in projects with our Structures Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

  • Assist in design using various types of CADD design software (such as Bentley's MicroStation and Open Bridge Modeler).

  • Assist with field work, design calculations, and analysis.

  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

  • General structural engineering support, including data collection, research, documentation, preparation of final design plan, special provisions, and cost estimates.

  • Contribute to the development of preliminary bridge reports, design, and quantities.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  • Complete training on assigned tasks.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Current standing as a Rising Senior or Graduate Student actively enrolled in an ABET accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program.

  • Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must have completed basic foundational courses: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Drafting Course.

  • Interest in engineering of bridge and other transportation structures.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
