The 2020 CQA program is the functional group at the Census Bureau that interfaces with citizens over the phone and other communications channels to assist them in responding to and completing 2020 Census Forms.MAXIMUS Federal Services (MFS) is seeking a Suitability Clerk to join our 2020 CQA Human Capital team.

As a Suitability Clerk- responsible for managing the suitability and background clearances processes for all new staff, as well as work in partnerships within 2020 CQA Human Capital Team.Duties/

Responsibilities:
Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship to the day- to-day activities of the supervisor and staff Perform various clerical and secretarial duties Ensure all candidates have the proper forms and supporting documentation to ensure quick, accurate and seamless application workflow Check background reports on all applicants daily until cleared Contact applicants via phone, email or SMS at various points in the hiring process Assist HR in miscellaneous tasks related to the hiring process while adhering to all hiring practices and guidelines Identify and report any trends or roadblocks in the hiring process
Education/Certification

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Associate's Degree required Minimum two (2) years of related work experience required
Additional Requirements as per contract/client: In accordance with contractual requirements:

Employment and continued employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable initial and final suitability determination, which will be decided in the sole discretion of the Census Bureau.Background Experience and Skills

VIEW JOBS 4/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-17T00:00 REPORTS TO: Director of Career & Technical Education WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt PAY GRADE: Salary Schedule 050 / 230 Days DEPARTMENT: Career & Technical Education PRIMARY PURPOSE: To facilitate the efficient operation of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department and provide clerical services to the Director of CTE Minimum Education/Certification: * High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills: * Knowledge of general office equipment * Knowledge of basic accounting principles * Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance * Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills * Ability to operate computer/peripherals using a variety of applications * Excellent customer service skills * Proficient keyboarding skills * Ability to operate computer/peripherals using a variety of basic applications * Ability to effectively use district programs after basic training and with reasonable help-desk assistance * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Minimum Experience: At least three (3) years clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * <li> Organize routine work activities in the Career and Technical Education Department * Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, etc. for the CTE Director and other staff members as directed * Assist in compiling information in preparing various reports * Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to each assigned staff member * Maintain departmental files for the CTE Director and others as assigned * Perform routine bookkeeping tasks for local funds including: creating purchase orders both online and manually, checking orders on arrival and processing the appropriate paperwork to the Business office, and maintaining the budget for each assigned staff member * Schedule rooms and prepare for various meetings * Create handouts for various CTE meetings * Work with CTE Department to purchase and maintain the records for various hardware ordered by campuses and administration offices * Keep information of and comply with all state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions * Maintain inventory of all CTE equipment for all campuses: 1) Collect packing slips; 2) enter items into CTE inventory; 3) follow state and federal guidelines for disposition; 4) follow district procedures when items are missing from inventory; assist teachers with questions regarding inventory control * Routing incidents and service requests to support specialist groups when needed * Analyzing incidents and service requests for correct prioritization, classification and providing initial support to teachers and administrators * Monitoring the status and progress towards resolution of assigned incidents and service requests * Assist with the organization and preparation necessary for special events * Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES: None WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Accuracy in preparing and proofreading written documents; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Prolonged use of computer; bending, stretching, light lifting of boxes of supplies and materials.
