Overview

Line cooks are needed for this coming winter season at Sugarloaf's 45 North Restaurant. The role of a line cook is to prepare food, help the kitchen workers in the preparation of food items and set up allocated stations for menu, as instructed by Chef and compliant with standards.

The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time. The job environment is stable, based on known relationships with people and well-defined processes. Job knowledge and competency is built through structured step-by-step training and positive, supportive coaching from management and peers.

Responsibilities

Prepare food according to food handling guidelines and cooking procedures.

Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe or use record to prepare and prep food items.

Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.

Communicate and coordinate production with other cooks, wait staff and members of the food and beverage team.

Possess knowledge and become familiar with all kitchen equipment.

Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, kettles, etc.

Observe and test foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing with thermometer to determine proper preparation and cooking.

Plate and proportion food and maintain consistency according to presentation specifications, using records or specs.

Label, date and rotate all stored food.

Perform closing procedures including equipment maintenance and shut off, cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas

Qualifications

Candidates must be willing to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Placement within the line will depend upon prior work experience.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-02-11T00:00 Overview A Sugarloaf Lift Operator assists guests in getting on and off chair lifts by operating ski lifts, including inspecting and testing for safety before opening. Lift Operators also maintain corrals, ramps, and work areas by shoveling and raking snow. A Sugarloaf Lift Operator must be reliable, energetic, outgoing, and able to interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner. This is an outdoor position and work occurs in all weather conditions. Responsibilities * Operates the assigned lift in accordance with standard procedures and written or verbal instructions to provide safe, uphill transportation for guests and employees * Assists with shoveling and raking snow, and chopping ice on a regular basis to maintain proper ramps, corrals, and work areas * Assists with the inspection of the lift prior to operational start up, which includes emptying trash containers, continually checking the status of marker information boards, tissue dispensers, assisting in the daily checking of switches, chairs, and grips. * Must become familiar with the ski area (lifts and trails) and also know the functions of other departments * Advises and assists guests as needed in a courteous manner * Must become familiar with the resort's policies, safety policies, and guest service expectations * Communicates problems to supervisors and mechanics, while showing initiative in handling routine matters and emergencies * Adheres to all departmental PPE * Contributes to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees, participating in safety meetings, accepting diverse assignments, and by maintaining a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions * Meets service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor Qualifications * Must be friendly, observant, and safety conscious * Must be able to exert considerable physical effort in order to complete tasks * Must be able to work outside in varying and at times extreme weather conditions * Must be 18 + years old and have a High School Degree or GED equivalent Boyne Resorts Biddeford ME
