We are seeking a part-time Success Coach who will report to the Program Coordinator. This person will be responsible for providing success coaching to currently-enrolled, part-time students who may be at risk of stopping out and re-enrolled PCCC students who had previously "stopped out" but are now returning to their studies. This will involve conducting regular, ongoing meetings via phone, videoconferencing, and/or in person with their assigned students, connecting each student with needed support provided by the PCCC-TSSS grant program, and maintaining updated documentation of each student's activities and progress. The coaching and grant support provided will ultimately afford these at-risk and stopped-out students a maximal opportunity to complete their college degree program or credential.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Example of Duties:
Conduct coaching sessions during late afternoon/early evening weekday hours using Inside Track Success Coaching methods via phone, videoconferencing, or in person meetings with a total of ~100 assigned currently-enrolled, at-risk part-time students and, as appropriate, re-enrolled formerly stopped-out students, who are participating in the PCCC-TSSS Program
Assist each student to create and follow a customized Student Re-Engagement Plan
Provide academic advisement and support to each student
Connect each student to on-campus and off-campus support services and resources that will address their unique needs
Coordinate student success workshops for Reconnect Program participants, as appropriate
Attend quarterly support meetings of PCCC-TSSS grant-affiliated individuals who are trained in Inside Track Success Coaching methods
Introduce students to career and employment workshops/trainings, student success-related workshops (e.g., time management, conducting research), etc. and services that will meet their unique needs
Collect and maintain success coaching data
Serve on the Project Management Team and the PCCC-TSSS Program Advisory Council, as available
Participate in project evaluation and institutionalization of activities
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education or related field
Three (3) of work experience in an academic setting working with underserved students
Bilingual in English and another high-need language preferred
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required
Knowledge of or ability and commitment to learn how to read, interpret, and explain degree audits
Knowledge of or ability and commitment to learn Inside Track Success Coaching
Proven ability to work both independently and in diverse teams
Experience working on grant-funded projects a plus
Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as program requires
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
