JOB TITLE: Warehouse Driver II

Job Purpose Statement/s: The job of "Warehouse Driver" is done for the purpose/s of maintaining required inventory levels; ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct; verifying stock and identifying losses; maintaining an organized warehouse layout; transporting orders over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles; and loading and unloading orders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Processes materials (U.S. mail, district mail, county mail) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.

  • Cleans warehouse for the purpose of maintaining an organized layout and safe work environment.

  • Conducts physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.

  • Inspects warehouse equipment and vehicles for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe operating condition.

  • Receives stock and non-stock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of order are correct.

  • Stocks equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining required inventory levels.

  • Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders to designated sites.

  • Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.

  • Prepares orders for the purpose of loading items onto vehicles.

  • Loads materials, supplies and equipment for the purpose of processing site requirements.

  • Unloads materials, supplies and equipment for the purpose of providing items for appropriate work areas.

Other Job Functions:

  • Participates in various activities (e.g. meetings, training, etc.) for the purpose of of receiving and/or conveying information.

Essential Job Requirements - Qualifications:

  • Experience Required:

Prior job related experience

  • Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required:

Skill to operate material handling equipment and tools, read maps and schedules, adhere to route schedules, maintain written records; perform basic math to calculate quantities of items, use calculator and/or computer; operate motor vehicle safely and responsibly; communicate effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, parents and school administrators.

Knowledge of methods of receiving, storage, delivery of materials, methods of materials handling, safe driving practices.

Ability to sit and walk for prolonged periods, understand and carry out oral and written instruction, walk and/or drive for extended periods. Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping/crouching, reaching/handling, talking/hearing conversations, near/far visual acuity/depth perception/visual accommodation/field of vision.

  • Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:

Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, Health Physical Examination, Tuberculosis Testing/Clearance.
