Job Description Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities of the Substitute Teacher includes (but not limited to):

  • Maintain schedule availability to accept opportunities that arise
  • Execute lesson plans consistent with the teachers guidelines, and school curriculum
  • Uphold an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience
  • Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns
  • Adhere to all company and school policies and procedures
  • Take attendance according to school procedure
  • Assign homework according to teachers lesson plans
  • Supplement lesson plans with your own class activities if lessons end early
  • Mentor and engage students
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and respectful demeanor always
  • Create and maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and productive learning environment in accordance with school policies
  • Establish a positive relationship with Parallel staff, as well as our school administrators, teachers, students and their families.


  • Associates Degree or higher required by the State of Wisconsin
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Classroom experience preferred but not required
  • Criminal History Background Check - both State and Federal
  • Drug screening with negative results
  • Substitute or Teaching License issued by the State of Wisconsin and compliance with DPI requirements - we can help guide you in the process!

Essential Functions * Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. * Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems * Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc. * Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities * Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned. Responsibilities * Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. * Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds * Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks * May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
