The Carter School is a Middle and High School for students with special needs. Our innovative approach to education extends far beyond the classroom door. Our programs support education, vocational opportunities, and recreational and social activities tailored to each student's specific interests and abilities.

Small Class Sizes
Many classes co-taught with multiple support staff
All classrooms in the Grace School follow a co-teaching model, with a General Education Teacher and a Special Education Teacher partnering to deliver a lesson that is inclusive for both typical learners and students with disabilities. Teachers are responsible for supervising and instructing Teacher Assistants and other collaborative staff. Students in our Special Education Program are often paired with Paraprofessionals to provide additional support in class.
