Substitute Teacher For 2024/2025 School Year (Closes 12/31/2024)

A substitute will be employed on a day-to-day basis. Substitute teachers are paid by the District for the 2024/2025 school year at the rate of: $180.00 per school day and $100.00 per half day $190.00 for Special Education and $115.00 per half day for Special Education

Applicants who are eligible for a 30 Day Substitute Permit are encouraged to apply (Bachelor's Degree and proof of the CA Basic Skills Requirement are required). Official transcripts will be requested upon hiring.

CA Basic Skills Requirement: Passage of CBEST, CSET, SAT, ACT or college coursework.

Individuals may meet the requirement by providing official transcripts that show passage of courses in reading, writing, and mathematics as outlined below. Courses must have been taken at a regionally-accredited college or university for credit, passed with a grade of B or better, be degree applicable, and be at least 3 semester units (or equivalent quarter units). Qualifying coursework does not include professional development or continuing education units or in-service training or workshops. Qualifying coursework includes the following:

For reading proficiency: a course in critical thinking, literature, philosophy, reading, rhetoric, or textual analysis. For writing proficiency: a course in composition, English, rhetoric, written communication, or writing. For mathematics proficiency: a course in algebra, geometry, mathematics, quantitative reasoning, or statistics.
