The Substitute Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students when a regular classroom teacher is not available. The Substitute Teacher will implement lesson plans, administer assessments and handle regular daily teaching responsibilities, such as taking attendance.
Long-term Substitute Teachers will take on additional responsibilities, including the development of lesson plans, communicating with parents and other team members about student progress, and attending team meetings and professional development.
In the classroom, the Substitute Teacher will be responsible for communicating knowledge to students in an interesting, stimulating, and effective manner. He or she will use a variety of instructional methodologies and curriculum resources to present material to students.
