  • Social Worker Job Description:
    Provide social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of students and their families and to maximize academic functioning. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

    Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

    Responsibilities:
    --- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Maintain accurate and up to date records of every treatment/session delivered to students whether direct or indirect services. Information will be documented into either the current IEP system and/or current Medicaid system.

    Document all student services who are eligible for Medicaid reimbursement if current DORA license is held. Complete records of students' progress and development preparing required reports on students and activities. --- Respond to referrals and or reported cases from teachers, administrators, other school personnel, parents, students, self, and community agencies (Department of Human Services). --- Provide individual casework/case management/counseling to students and parents to alleviate conditions, which interfere with the students learning and achievement. --- Provide assistance and or referrals for students, families, or staff regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, or medical care. --- Gather information, investigate and interview clients individually, in families, or in groups, assessing their situations, capabilities, and problems, to determine what services are required to meet their needs. --- Serve as liaison between students, homes, schools, family services, child guidance clinics, courts, protective services, doctors, and other contacts, to help children who face problems such as disabilities, abuse, or poverty. --- Create, organize and update case history records and prepare reports, according to deadlines. --- Counsel parents with concerns or problems, interviewing the child and family to determine whether further action is required. --- Refer clients to community resources for services such as assessment services to go and how to apply. --- Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine causes of problems such as truancy and misbehavior, and to implement solutions. --- Develop and review service plans in consultation with students, and perform follow-ups assessing the quantity and quality of services provided. Do NOT apply online with DCSD) Job Description:Teachers at Renaissance Secondary facilitate rich learning experiences for students. Teachers instruct students in academic subject matter, along with social, behavioral, and other educational or related skill areas; plans, develops, organizes, implements, and assesses a comprehensive educational program for students; assists in other school programs as assigned; creates a supportive and flexible program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth according to each student’s ability and interests. Position Specific Information (if Applicable): This is a long-term substitute position; March 25th - May 31st. Responsibilities: Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Utilize teaching methods and educational tools in an ever changing and strategic environment. You would plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, preparing required reports on students and activities. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary. As integral parts of their school and the school community, teachers perform certain duties including but not limited to student support, counseling students with academic problems and supporting certain extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organizations, participating in department and school meetings, and parent meetings. Utilize best practices in instructional strategies to facilitate student growth through teaching and assessment of curriculum. Facilitate learning opportunities that measure and integrate creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, communication, problem solving, global awareness, and other 21st century skills aligned to state and district standards. Differentiate instruction and learning experiences to meet the needs of all students.
