Substitute School Nurse

SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL NURSE

Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.

SALARY:

$16.62 per hour

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Principal

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Baccalaureate Degree

Current, valid, and unrestricted Ohio License to practice as a registered nurse

Valid Ohio Department of Education School Nurse License or ability to obtain

Minimum five years successful work experience in nursing

Current CPR/AEO Certification and/or ability to obtain

Maintain and complete accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate (orally and in writing) with staff, students, parents/guardians

Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting, walking, or standing for long periods of time

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, lead and support colleagues

Demonstrates the ability to access pharmacology information and community health resources appropriate to the needs of students

Proficient use of personal computer and/or network computer system and ability to adapt to new and existing software applications (Microsoft Office)

Comply with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies

Documented evident of a clear background screening (e.g. clear criminal record)

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with high school age students
