Substitute - Clinic Assistant 2024-2025

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proof of high school graduation/GED or certificate of equivalency.

• Experience working with children preferred.

• Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.

• Demonstrate effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills as well as a professional appearance and attitude.

• Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.

• Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

• Maintain current certification in CPR and first aid.

• A minimum of 2 years of medical experience preferred.

• Must have:

• 48 hours of college credits OR

• Associate or higher degree OR

• Competency on the CFISD proficiency tests (score of 70 or above on both parts).

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis and are not considered contractual employees.

SALARY:

$85.00/day

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

A. Complete any clerical tasks assigned by the campus nurse which may include the following:

1.Document daily clinic visits, immunization information, and other medical data in student electronic medical records.

2.Complete accident forms for any accident requiring medical attention

B. Assist the campus nurse with clinical procedures delegated by the campus nurse or assigned by the campus principal:

1.Provide first aid to ill and injured students

2.Assist school nurse to maintain a clean and well-organized clinic

3.Perform other related duties or functions as assigned by the Director of Health Services, Campus Principal, or supervising campus nurse.

4.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
