Substitute Instructional Assistant

Substitutes Instructional Assistants cover for instructional assistants in Special Education classrooms or for PE aides on an on-call, as needed basis. Work schedule and work hours will vary. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instructional support and assistance to teachers and students assigned to a designated special education instructional program; perform a variety of support activities related to behavior management and classroom instruction of special education students; assist in the preparation of instructional materials and provide routine clerical support.

All applicants must pass the basic skills test before being considered for an interview. The basic skills test will be waived for those applicants who have taken and passed all portions of the California Basic Skills Test (CBEST). A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
