Substitute Custodians for Teton County School District,
On-Call as needed basis, $20.35 hour.

Buildings and Grounds Supervisor
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The custodian's prime responsibility is to provide and maintain a clean, orderly, healthful, and safe facility for the continuance of the educational process.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Custodians have the responsibility for the cleanliness and the operational equipment of the building, the lighting, the heating, classrooms, hallways, rest rooms, yard, playgrounds, athletic facilities, and other areas in their assigned facility. Their duties are multifold in the caring and cleaning of their building.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain facility in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
Make emergency repairs when necessary.
Do painting or minor repairs as agreed upon or directed.
Maintain the outside area in a safe and appealing condition.
Coordinate movement and arrangement of furniture and supplies.
Work in cooperation with administrator to see that exits, exit lights, safety precautions, and health, fire and sanitary regulations are continuously observed.
Be responsible for seeing that the building is properly secured.
Cooperate with administrator and staff at all times to promote an environment conducive to learning.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the administration.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND MENTAL ABILITY:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lower body strength to stand or walk throughout shift
Upper body strength to lift, carry, or move objects up to 100 pounds
Climb ladders, change lights, bend and do physical activities all of shift
ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Exposure to weather from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 110 degrees Fahrenheit
Frequent exposure to airborne particles such as dust, chemical fumes, and insulation, using correct safety equipment
EMERGENCY REPAIRS/MINOR REPAIRS - GUIDELINES
Snow removal - entrance and other identified needs.
Work orders necessary on everything for maintenance.
Make sure storage areas do not conflict with maintenance areas.
Replace light bulbs, wash and clean fixtures when needed.
Work orders for plumbing and electrical.
Regular inspection of nuts and bolts (including playground).
Check exit hardware.
Leaving water on during winter months.
SAFETY HAZARDS
There are twelve key hazards which serve as a stimulus for noticing unsafe conditions around all school facilities:
Fire Hazards - improperly stored oily rags, paints, flammable liquids, open flames, etc.
Faulty Fire Protection Equipment - unsafe fire exits, defective fire extinguishers, etc.
Electrical Hazards - open switches, defective grounds or wiring, overloading circuits, etc.
Machine Operation Hazards - defective equipment, failure to use guards, unfamiliarity with use, etc.
Material Hazards - defective tools, ladders, cleaning equipment, etc.
Power Transmission Hazards - unguarded belts, moving machinery, etc.
Poor Lighting
Poor Housekeeping - work areas, storage areas, etc.
Poor Ventilation - confined spaces, etc.
Yard Hazards - improper waste handling and storage, parking, traffic.
Seasonal Hazards - ice, snow, etc.
Blood Borne Pathogens - transmission of bodily fluids.
