2.Upon being hired, you will be required to complete several online courses regarding proper conduct, safety, etc.

3.This is not an actual job opening - your application indicates your interest in becoming a substitute bus driver.

4.Completing and submitting this application does NOT provide automatic consideration for any regular bus driver openings. It is the responsibility of the applicant to check the NKSD website for job opportunities and to complete and submit applications. The application process for regular NKSD positions may require additional information - be sure to thoroughly review those postings.

IMPORTANT:

  • Substitutes who do not accept any jobs within a 90-day calendar period (excluding summer break) without providing advance notice via email or voicemail will be removed from the substitute list and moved to INACTIVE status. Anyone who has been removed from the substitute list for this reason and then wishes to work for NKSD again must apply via Fast Track, attend orientation and complete required online training. Background checks will be conducted.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DRUG SCREENING: This is a safety sensitive position for which impairment while working presents a substantial risk of death. RCW 49.44.240 3(g) Candidates who must present a CDL, or receive CDL within a prescribed time period as a requirement for employment are subject to screening and specifically prohibited if test results are positive for cannabis.

  • Regular employees who have separated from service and wish to substitute for North Kitsap School District must apply via Fast Track, complete required online courses and attend orientation. Online course completion and orientation attendance may be required. Background checks will be conducted.

  • Substitutes who drop more than one job in a four-week period will be subject to review of their work records with North Kitsap School District. This could result in being removed from the substitute list. A job is considered "dropped" if a substitute declines it (after having accepted it) less than 36 hours prior to the job start and does not provide notice via email or voicemail.

RETIRED NORTH KITSAP BUS DRIVERS who return to substitute for NKSD shall be compensated at the first year regular driver rate.

Conditions of Employment

I further authorize any current/former employer, person, firm, corporation, educational or vocational institution, or government agency to provide the districts to which I am applying with information regarding me. I hereby release and discharge the School District and those who provide, receive or use such information from any and all liability as a result of furnishing and receiving this information. I further agree that if an offer of employment is made to me, I will provide verification of my certification, education and experience. Benefits

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 - August 31). This position is NOT anticipated to meet the requirement of 630 hours of employment in a school/fiscal year to qualify for benefits.
