Sturgeon Electric, one of the oldest and largest electrical contractors in the country, has opportunities for several Substation Inspectors to work on projects in the West Valley of Phoenix.
This position will be working hand and hand with the Utilities project management team to assure the substations are built to specification. You will be required to inspect a green field sub-station from start to finish including trenching, foundations and all associated Electrical work.
This is a union opportunity through IBEW
Preparation and completion of project construction quality review checklists and required documentation
Submission of quality reporting to management
Working with project management to address and improve quality practices throughout the duration of the project
Inspect and assist gas installation and construction
Assist with design and coordinating scheduling for installation.
Schedule and coordinate with GC's, Municipalities and RTD,
Other duties as assigned
7 years or more of experience as a Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Electrician or Journeyman Technician working on substation projects required
Must be able to read blue prints
Prior experience working in a quality assurance or control position desired
Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar is helpful
Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel is desired
Excellent written and oral communication skills is a must
