RIDGEVIEW Behavioral Health Services, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an opening for a Full Time Bachelor's Level Tennessee Prevention Network (TPN) Prevention Specialist to provide early intervention services in regional schools during the school year only (summers off). This position is suitable for a new graduate or early career social worker/ counselor. Projected start date is August 1, 2024.

REQUIREMENTS

The TN Prevention Network (TPN) Prevention Specialist is responsible for the implementation and ongoing operation of the Amazing Discoveries school-based programs as they are defined and funded by the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. This program provides the evidence-based Too Good for Drugs curriculum in middle and high schools in Anderson, Campbell, Morgan, Roane and Scott Counties.

This position reports to the Director of C&Y Services for programmatic and clinical supervision and consists of: presentation of classroom programming based on Too Good for Drugs curriculum guidelines, adventure based counseling, and networking and referral to community resources. Position will be required to maintain a positive working relationship with school systems and other community service agencies.

JOB DUTIES

Bachelor's degree in a mental health/social science discipline and one year experience in early intervention/substance abuse counseling preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Demonstrate competency in working with children and adolescents (ages 12-18 years), familiarity with and/or experience in school setting helpful; individual and group skills required.
