In this role, you will:
Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.
Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse. professionals, programs, and associations.
Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents as required.
Participate in related training for substance abuse.
Qualifications
We would prefer someone who has experience within a correctional setting.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of a Master's degree: and two (2) years of experience working with substance abusers and/or offenders is preferred.
Counselors will be primarily responsible for clinical caseloads, including developing and reviewing treatment plans, noting progress, providing clinical counseling services and preparing and maintaining clinical records which will be housed separate from basic case records They also are required to provide basic shift coverage and to participate in daily activities of the TC.
Licensed, provisionally licensed, or have completed the Master's level course requirements to become a licensed counselor in the state of Wyoming (LPC, LAT, LCSW, PAT, CAP, CSW) within 6 months of hire according to the rules and standards of the Mental Health Professionals Licensing Board of Wyoming.
Have a license or provisional license based upon credentials and experience gained in another State that is transferable according to the rules and standards of the Mental Health Professionals Licensing Board of Wyoming.
Physical Requirements
In this position, you will frequently have to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. Candidates should also be able to bend, stoop, walk, and stand (31-60% of the time). You will also occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
