Substance Abuse Counselor

Currently seeking certified/registered Alcohol & Drug Counselors to become a part of our Behavioral Health team. Bay Area Community Resources, a non-profit organization, is re-inventing one of our Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs. Registered counselors with relevant experience will be considered.

• Pay: $26-$30/hour (full time), dependent on registration/certification and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a Certified or Registered Alcohol or Drug Counselor or licensed counselor by a State of California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT.
• Must be able to work onsite at a facility
• Previous experience working with the justice-involved population
• Excellent work ethic; full understanding of and adherence to professional, ethical and legal standards
• Must be able to clear Livescan fingerprinting & background check

Preferred:

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Computer literate

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate education and treatment groups on site and within the community
• Conduct intakes of new clients and discharges
• Individual care management
• Engagement and retention groups
• Address client issues surrounding topics of substance use and criminal behaviors
