Las Vegas Comprehensive Treatment Center, located in Las Vegas, NV, is part of Acadia Healthcare's Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our counseling team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Your Job as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

The Substance Abuse Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Abuse Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will plan, oversee, facilitate and document their patient's recovery as well as provide leadership and guidance for the activities of other personnel.

Shift hours are early mornings Monday - Friday from 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, allowing you to enjoy a great work/life balance.

Your Responsibilities as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required;

  • Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required;

  • May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions;

  • Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessment, for patients;

  • Prepare an individual treatment plans for each assigned patient;

  • Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner;

  • May act as a liaison between referral sources and patients;

  • Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed;

  • May plan for aftercare for assigned patients;

  • May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested;

  • May provide case management duties for patients, insuring individualized quality care;

  • Evaluate patient' needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed; and,

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Your Skills and Qualifications as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

  • Bachelor's degree or enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in social or health services field, with 2+ years exp in counseling field; or bachelor's degree in other field with 4+ years in the counseling field

  • Master's degree in social or health services field, with 1 year professional work exp; degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • CADC-I, CADC, or LADC

Simply put, your expertise matters.</p><p>Experience and Qualifications</p><ul><li><p>A minimum of two (2) years post-graduate relevant supervised clinical experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment is required.</p></li><li><p>Unrestricted license (i.e., able to work independently, without supervision, from a licensed supervisor) without current disciplinary action.</p></li><li><p>Experience with assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy/psychoeducation, and individualized treatment planning for adults with substance use disorders.</p></li><li><p>Experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Must be familiar with DSM-V as a means of diagnosis.</p></li></ul><p>Education</p><ul><li>Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health. Please Note: in accordance with our compliance requirements, all Lionrock counselors must have obtained their Masters degree prior to obtaining state licensure.</li></ul><p>Competencies</p><ul><li><p>Ability to accurately assess, diagnose and create individualized treatment plans for an adult SUD population.</p></li><li><p>Deliver treatment to an adult substance abuse disordered (SUD) population utilizing Evidence-Based SUD Practices.</p></li><li><p>Ability to conduct individual and group psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based SUD practices.</p></li><li><p>Ability to deliver psychoeducational materials in a group setting that relate to overall health, mental health, and recovery from substance use disorders.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with medical and pharmacological resources</p></li><li><p>Ability to deliver culturally appropriate treatment strategies that demonstrate an understanding of diversity and utilize the clients resources.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of regulations for documentation and the ability to write comprehensive, accurate, and concise notes that record clients progress towards treatment goals.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate the professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities and working independently in a web-based treatment program.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrate commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a web-based treatment program.</p></li><li><p>Ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives in a timely manner.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional standards as they relate to client treatment, patient rights, and client/patient confidentiality.</p></li><li><p>Responds to and appropriately handles crises to ensure client safety</p></li></ul><p>Essential Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Performs intake and psychosocial assessments.</p></li><li><p>Develops individualized SMART treatment plans and updates treatment plans regularly.</p></li><li><p>Provides general chemical dependency counseling to include individual, group, and group psychoeducation counseling services.</p></li><li><p>Provides higher-level assessment (e.g. other, non-CD, Mental Health diagnoses; danger to self or others; non-CD crisis evaluations; emotional/family dysfunction).</p></li><li><p>Completes documentation of all clients visits and contacts in a timely, accurate and concise manner.</p></li><li><p>Communicates regularly with the Admissions Team and colleagues to coordinate client care.</p></li><li><p>Communicate with outside agencies and providers to coordinate client care.</p></li><li><p>Crisis assessment and intervention as needed.</p></li><li><p>Assess for detox and create a plan to help clients connect with their local medical services.</p></li><li><p>Participates in clinical case conferences.</p></li><li><p>May be required to participate in a group coverage on-call rotation.</p></li><li><p>Other duties as assigned.</p></li></ul><p>You wont be tasked with securing client referrals, obtaining liability insurance, handling the admissions process, OR billing and marketing - weve got you covered!</p><p>Compensation &amp; Benefits</p><p>Stream 1 - Part-Time, 15-24 hrs, Competitive Hourly Rate, W-2 position:</p><ul><li><p>Direct Compensation: starting rate of $40 per hour</p></li><li><p>Indirect Compensation: valued at $4,000 per year; includes PTO and Holiday Pay</p></li></ul><p>~potential full-time/benefitted positions available for candidates that are independently licensed in multiple states~</p><p>Flexible Scheduling M-Fri: Lionrock Recovery offers a flexible schedule with multiple shifts available!
