Lynn Comprehensive Treatment Center, located in Lynn, MA, is part of Acadia Healthcare's outpatient Comprehensive Treatment Centers, the leading provider of medication-assisted treatment in the nation. Our counseling team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

Location: Lynn CTC - Lynn, MA

Schedule: Early mornings Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, allowing you to enjoy a great work/life balance.

Pay Rate: Dependant upon counselor level (1-4)

The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for:

  • Providing high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.

  • Planning, overseeing, facilitating and documenting patient's recovery.

  • Co-facilitating assigned group or family sessions.

  • Ensuring all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.

  • Preparing individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.

  • Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.

  • Evaluating patient' needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed

  • Providing crisis intervention to patients, as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 2+ years' experience in counseling field, OR

  • Master's degree in social or health services field with 1+ years' experience in counseling field

  • Experience providing guidance in a substance abuse/recovery environment

  • Prior knowledge/experience working with MAT (medication assisted treatment) highly preferred

  • CADC or LADC preferred, not required

Eliot's Behavioral Health Division provides an integrated and comprehensive network of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities that are evidence based, provide rehabilitation &amp; hope to those in services.</p><p>Eliot is currently seeking an experienced Licensed substance abuse clinician (LADCI) with outstanding counseling skills and experience with dual diagnosis. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and facilitating dual diagnosis groups, motivational interviewing, harm reduction techniques, 12 step programs and detoxification facilities.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Ensure that Persons are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with ECHS' Human Rights policy. Ensure that the foundations of services encompass empowerment, choices and recovery.</p></li><li><p>Empower Persons to exercise control over their lives, including daily routines within their home, their treatment and leisure activities. Includes informing Persons of choices in all areas of living to promote individual control.</p></li><li><p>Assist Persons in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education.</p></li><li><p>Ensure Persons are free from neglect and abuse. Report all concerns/ suspicions of abuse/neglect to supervisor and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission, Executive Office of Elder Affairs or Dept. Children and Families.</p></li><li><p>Actively take part in supervision, staff meetings, in-services and trainings as required or determined by supervisor.</p></li><li><p>Ensure that services are culturally competent, strengths based, recovery based, focused on rehabilitation and are inclusive of Person preferences. Ensure that the Person is at the center of all care and that all interventions are developed and provided in a manner consistent with Person preferences, are evidenced based and utilize cultural/community resources.</p></li><li><p>Provide and maintain therapeutic boundaries and a professional relationship with Persons. Exercise sound judgment by providing appropriate distance and support that promotes a trusting relationship and places the wellbeing of the Person first. Ensure that emotional vulnerability of the Person is not exploited for personal or other interests and act in a manner that cannot be misconstrued by the Person.
