Your Job as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

The Substance Abuse Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Abuse Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will plan, oversee, facilitate and document their patient's recovery as well as provide leadership and guidance for the activities of other personnel.

We have daily shifts that allow our employees to have stable schedules and enjoy quality time away from the facility. Shift hours are early mornings on Monday - Friday from 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, allowing you to enjoy a great work/life balance.

Your Responsibilities as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

Conduct individual counseling sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required;
Conduct group and/or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and documents as required;
May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions;
Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessment, for patients;
Prepare an individual treatment plans for each assigned patient;
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner;
May act as a liaison between referral sources and patients;
Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed;
May plan for aftercare for assigned patients;
May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested;
May provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care;
Evaluate patient' needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed; and,
Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and

Job Requirements

as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

HS graduate or equivalent required; prefer bachelor's degree in social or health services field from an accredited college or university
Previous experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum through education or certification process preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

Registration required (RADT-1, RADT-II, RAC, or RACi)
CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP certification preferred

Compensation for roles at Capalina Comprehensive Treatment Center varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience.As required by local law, Capalina Comprehensive Treatment Center provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Calculated Hourly Range for role: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour

VIEW JOBS Purpose:The Scribe position is responsible for assisting the physician in accurately documenting and transcribing interactions between the patient and physician. The position works collaboratively with nursing and clerical staff to maintain efficient patient flow and performs other patient-related tasks as assigned by the physician. Also works to be personal and professional assistant to offer personalized support to the physician.Responsibilities/Essential Functions (other duties as assigned):<ul><li>Accompanies physician into the patient examination room, in order to transcribe a history and physical examination as given by the patient and physician, including proper charting of the examination and recommendations for treatment.</li><li>Under direction of the physician, transcribes patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, eprescribing.</li><li>Documents any procedures performed by the physician, in the electronic medical record.</li><li>Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family and/or the patient's private physician or referring physician.</li><li>Completes the patient's electronic record by transcribing results of any lab's, x-rays, or other evaluations. Continuously checks on the progress of the data in order to assist the physician in decision making regarding the patient's care and treatment.</li><li>Lists all proper diagnosis as well as any follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as dictated by the physician.</li><li>Documents any physician orders relate to patient care and ensures follow-through of pending items.</li><li>Assists physician with any other duties related to patient care as instructed.</li><li>Works collaboratively with nursing and clerical staff to maintain efficient patient flow. Notifies appropriate staff members if physician schedule is impacted by urgent patient matters or precludes physician from remaining on schedule.</li><li>Manages physician template to ensure good patient flow and productivity.</li><li>Coaches and trains new scribes.</li></ul>Experience, Qualifications/Education:<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li><li>Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited educational institution or a minimum of 2 years' experience being a Medical Assistant</li><li>Current CPR certification required</li><li>Knowledge of computer/telephony support, preferably in a health care environment</li><li>Strong customer service background, preferably in health care environment</li><li>Excellent verbal communication skills</li><li>Competence with computer processing functions and other standard office equipment</li><li>Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks</li><li>Ability to calmly and professionally resolve customer issues with diplomacy and tact</li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li></ul>Working Conditions:<ul><li>This position functions primarily indoors in a medical / business environment.
