Substance Abuse Counselor 2

The Position

Substance Abuse Counselors perform professional duties in areas of screening, assessment, case management, education, and treatment of clients and perform related administrative duties and recordkeeping in accordance with the standards and requirements of the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services in Sparks, Nevada is hiring for a Substance Abuse Counselor 2. This position will work with various outpatient programs, including Assisted Outpatient Treatment program, to provide services both in the office and in the community.

The Substance Abuse Counselor 2 position provides targeted case management services, substance abuse evaluations, individual and group counseling to adults with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.
