We are currently seeking a skilled Subrogation Supervisor.

This person is expected to be a claim professional that has developed their knowledge over the years through hands-on experiences from a claim adjuster's perspective through leadership. This person needs to have skills in preferably all aspects of claims handling from first party claims, to third party claims involving both non-attorney represented bodily injuries and attorney represented, to material damage knowledge. This level of knowledge and experiences are required because this role will be heavily focused on conducting both Incoming PD Subrogation and Outgoing Subrogation, which is heavily collision claims. This is a very unique role because it requires not only subrogation skills, but strong Estimate background of writing and negotiating estimates.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a Team Leader over the Outgoing Subrogation work product. (Team size approx. 5)

  • Teach Leadership skills

  • Build and Lead a team for Incoming PD Subrogation (Team size of approx. 4)

  • Teach estimate skills to validate the accuracy of the incoming PD Subrogation claims.

  • Work with outside vendors for collections on UM Claims

  • Develop strategy on how to minimize outside vendor involvement on UM claims.

  • Coordinates with other departments, insurance representatives, and members

  • Examine all state guidelines and member claims files that may affect the subrogation process

  • Providing necessary training regarding subrogation functions and procedures

  • Oversee the performance, development and coaching of staff

Qualifications:

  • 5 years+ of Claims experience as outlined above with majority in Personal Lines

  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

  • Experience with standard and non-standard is preferred

  • Solid understanding of Estimates

  • Solid understanding of Leadership skills

  • Strong communication skills both verbally as well as written

  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task

  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills required

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with uncertainty

  • Position will be based in Downers Grove, IL office

  • No travel required

Position Summary: Investigates, evaluates, disposes and settles less complex claims with moderate supervision and includes the investigation, determination and evaluation of coverage, liability and damages and the setting of proper reserves. Incumbents at this level typically hold claims reserve and settlement authority of up to $5,000 liability and/or $10,000 workers compensation or greater. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Exercises proper judgment and decision making to analyze the claims exposure to determine the proper course of action and to appropriately settle the claim. * Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process. * Handles claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures and "best practices" and also in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements. * Documents and communicates all claim activity timely and effectively and in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file. * Incumbents at this level should be able to work at full case load capacity. Additional Considerations: Required: * High School Diploma * Minimum of 3 years related claims experience required * Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled. * Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. * Computer experience with related claims and business software. Desired: * Bachelor's Degree Work Traits: * Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges. * Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in handling of claims. * Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation.
