Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) Coordinator - DeSoto, KS

Job Summary:

This position supports the project team and accounting department in managing the Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) program.

Primary Duties:

  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.

  • Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements

  • Ensures insurance requirements are relative to subcontract default insurance (SDI), and confirm certificate accuracy

  • Identifies any irregularities or risk exposure and supports the development of a strategy to address them

  • Ensures that all required documentation, including insurance, bonding, SDI, are in place.

  • Interprets trade partner documentation for accounting-related items and following established accounting procedures

  • Assesses risk for bondable subcontractors

  • Manages the risk of subcontractor defaults via payments, lien waivers, and communication with sub-tier vendors/suppliers

  • Coordinates Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) project closeouts

  • Provide support for project and corporate audits as well as provide support for subcontractor default claims

Qualifications:

  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and PowerBI or other data visualization tools

  • Basic understanding of bid and contract securities and insurance as they relate to risk management, claims management, pricing, and accounting

  • Basic understanding of subcontract PO terms including insurance and subcontractor default insurance (SDI) and bonding requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of accounting or subcontract administration experience in construction preferred
