Owlstone Medicals mission is to save 100,000 patient lives and save health care providers $1.5B; several major projects are underway to develop disease screening and diagnostics based on detection of volatile metabolic products in breath.
We are currently seeking a scientist with a strong publication record and excellent oral & written communication skills to join our US-based Breath Biopsy Center of Excellence, located in Research Triangle Park, NC. The successful candidate will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team with extensive experience in metabolism, biomarker discovery, and precision medicine, working to accelerate the awareness and adoption of Breath Biopsy as a valuable tool for biomedical researchers and clinicians.
The major functions for this role will be to support customer acquisition and study design, interpretation and translation of breath-based clinical study data, and dissemination of scientific findings to deliver customer-enabling insights from complex volatile organic compound (VOC) data sets.
The Study Scientist will take overall scientific responsibility for each study in their portfolio. They will be responsible for leading the scientific interpretation of breath-based VOC data for research projects from pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical clients, and encapsulating results to elucidate a finite set of logical conclusions from these datasets. Specifically, the role involves evaluation of study design and study analysis, data interpretation, and communication through presentations and written reports.
