Position SummaryThe Advisor for Global Programs position contributes to the vision of the Office of Global Programs by providing a high level of student services for matriculated and non-matriculated students engaged in NYU's Global network. This role is responsible for but not limited to providing admission and enrollment, academic, career, financial aid, cultural awareness, travel planning, and personal advising to students; representing and marketing NYU Global Programs to potential students at on-campus and off-campus events; cultivating relationships with students, parents and college advisors to encourage a positive response and interest in enrolling at NYU Global Programs; reviewing and evaluating students' admission applications to achieve University, geographic, and departmental enrollment targets by encouraging qualified students to apply; and contributing as part of the Global Programs Enrollment and Student Services team.

Qualifications Required Education:Bachelors degree Preferred Education:Masters Degree in Higher Education, International Education/Relations, or related field Required Experience:2 years admissions or related student services experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Experience:Experience working in student advising, recruitment and promotions/marketing, or student services/student life. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Solid administrative skills (including strong background in Microsoft Office suite), excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills.

Comfort with handling sensitive situations and/or people. Ability to professionally interact with students, parents, faculty, staff and administrators, and solve complex interdepartmental issues. Ability to promote the University and to work independently as well as part of a team.

Broad understanding of academic and international programs, ability to form relationships with key colleagues across campus. Valid driver's license. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel independently.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Familiarity with PeopleSoft or another student information system, Comfort using Excel for data review and reporting, Experience with Content Management Systems a plus. Time spent living, learning, or travelling internationally and experience with cultural adjustment. Valid passport. Participates in all aspects of research management and quality assurance of data for a specific project(s) as assigned. Responsible for data management activities associated with clinical research at a service specific level. Performs data collection, data entry and analysis for studies as appropriate. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Collaborates with the research team and research administration, as needed, to ensure that research subjects are treated in accordance with all mandated requirements. Ensures that standards regarding subject registration, protocol specific tests, and required documentation are adhered to. Reports deviations as appropriate and resolves issues when possible. Escalates issues to supervisor as needed. * Performs informed consent and clinical research data entry. Ensures accuracy when transcribing data from a paper case report form (CRF) into an electronic format. * Compiles and assists in analyzing data in preparation for a presentation, sponsor/regulatory agency, publication, etc. with the assistance of project investigator. * Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations, etc. * Assists Principal Investigator in departmental audits as well as external audits performed by representatives of the sponsor for each clinical research project. Works closely with HSS internal monitor for guidance on these activities. * Performs IRB submissions for initial approvals, re-approvals, amendments, etc. * Prioritizes and schedules work activities to ensure that workflow is controlled and meets the need of the department. Communicates and maintains institutional/departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards, improvement initiatives and external legal regulations/regulatory requirements. * Performs advanced data queries when needed. Provides timely reports and aids in reports to Institutional Review Board, Principal Investigator, National Institutes of Health and/or sponsor for each research project. * Prepares all required internal reports on activity, on volume, and census reports as needed. * Participates in the development of new protocols, prospective databases and new initiatives taken on by the department. This may include design of database and tools to facilitate data collection as requested for specific projects (calendars, schedules, tracking logs). * Develops a training plan for newly hired Research Assistants (RA) in the department/service in collaboration with Clinical Research Administration (CRA). Monitors the training progress of new hires and supervises the RA in the mentoring process. Responsible for the continued mentoring and education of assigned Research Assistants. * Communicates effectively with management, clinical staff, external sponsors and patients at HSS when conducting procedures i.e. operating room, blood processing, video, nerve conduction testing, photographs, applying devices and sensory testing. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: * 1-2 years' experience in clinical research * Bachelor's degree * Proficient use of computers and software * Scientific background with knowledge of Orthopaedic and/or * Rheumatologic terminology is a plus Hospital For Special Surgery New York NY
