Job Description:

HelloFresh is in search of a full-time food photographer to join our in-house studio team in New York City. Reporting to the Studio Operations Manager, the candidate will work closely with our Brand Operations team to create exceptional photography and video.

The candidate should be passionate about innovative food photography and experienced in an in-house collaborative workflow. He or she will be comfortable shooting and assisting with both large campaigns as well as smaller-scale, recurring projects always resulting in beautiful food photography.

You will ...

  • Execute beautiful, campaign quality photography/video for print and digital use

  • Work with the studio teamfood & prop styliststo create professional, refined videos

  • Execute call sheets/shot list, adjust to feedback and add value where possible

  • Produce well-lit, well-composed, compelling content, in step with brand guidelines

  • Work directly with internal support teams to deliver a successful, on-scope shoot

  • Edit photo and video content in appropriate post-production software

  • Process photos/video and deliver the appropriate file types

  • Manage critically important creative and client relationships

  • Work within an asset management system, including basic tagging of assets

  • Problem-solve the best, most efficient way to execute shoots under limiting circumstances

  • Ensure shot counts are met and daily workload is accurately documented and achieved

  • Consistently meet deadlines and production metrics to ensure a successful shoot

  • Edit and file delivery in a timely manner, in step with studio SOPs

  • Share responsibility for care, upkeep and maintenance of studio work space and equipment

  • Ensure that recipe card photography accurately represents the customer experience

  • Ensure that step photography is consistent between old and updated images, between studios, including lighting, surfaces, and equipment

  • Enthusiastic and team player, understanding the value of the studio is in the sum of its parts

  • Inspired, deeply curious with an eye for emerging trends and techniques

  • Impeccably organized, excellent time manager, with careful attention to detail

At a minimum, you have...

  • Bachelor's degree + 4 years photography experience

  • Strong food photography portfolio that demonstrates skill level and technical abilities

  • Experience working collaboratively with food and prop stylists on set

  • Experience with pacing and balance needed to work with food and fresh ingredients

  • Keen eye for composition, including creative ways of executing your vision

  • An understanding and feeling for food and shooting fresh ingredients

  • Demonstrated knowledge of lighting equipment, including continuous and strobe

  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, capture one and Adobe Premiere

  • An ability and willingness to always be the calmest person in the room

  • 3 years of experience with video is desired
