JOB TITLE: Student Workers - BCPS High School Students Only

LOCATION: Assignments throughout Baltimore County Public Schools.

DEFINITION: Assists a variety of schools and central offices; school based lunchroom assistants for elementary schools, Food & Nutrition Services cafeteria assistants, Buisness Service postions, IT Support Tech, school based seasonal positions, etc.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Performs production and operational tasks as assigned by the administrator, manager or supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training and Experience:

Current BCPS high school junior or senior students.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Current students enrolled in specific programs preferred.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Varies.

Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required.

Salary: $15.00 per hour

  • Applicants are required to have a completed application on file for employment with Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS). Each time an applicant applies to a job with BCPS, the application must be resubmitted.   • Professional references must be submitted to complete your application. Examples of professional references include current and former principals, supervisors, managers, mentor teachers and university/college supervisors.

    Personal references from colleagues, friends, community members, etc. will not be accepted. Applicants should notify their reference proactively to inform them they will receive a form via email through a MAILBOT email address from Baltimore County Public Schools. Applicants should also inform their reference(s) of the job they are applying to.

  • Be sure to account for all periods of employment and unemployment, including student teaching and internship experience, and include names, addresses, and telephone numbers of employers.

  • Be sure to answer all criminal background questions. If you answer "yes" to any of the criminal background questions you must provide a written explanation.

    A criminal offense does not necessarily exclude an applicant from employment with BCPS. Factors such as passage of time since the offense, the nature of the violation, and the extent of rehabilitation will be taken into consideration.

  • Student workers must complete the online work permit information by going to the Maryland Department of Labor and Licensing website: https://www.dllr.state.md.us/ChildWorkPermit/web/content/Home.aspx.

Condiitons of Employment :

  • Student workers do not have to pay for the cost of fingerprinting. However, all student workers are required to complete I-9 and E-verify documents in order to begin work.

    You will receive an email congratulating you for successfully completing the pre-employment paperwork for BCPS. The next step is for you to contact the Office of Investigations and Records Management at 443-809-8941 to schedule an in-person appointment for review of the I-9 forms and two forms of required identification. The location of the Office of Fingerprinting is 6901 Charles Street, Building B, Towson, MD 21204. .

  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US

Please note that BCPS currently has a vaccine requirement for all individuals conducting work on behalf of BCPS.
