Job Summary
The Purdue University Honors College is accepting applications for a Web Content student assistant to provide support to the Director of the Tech Justice Lab. The ideal candidate should be an excellent communicator who is adept with website content maintenance tasks, including administrative and design under the guidance of the Director.
Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director the Tech Justice Lab, the Web Content student assistant will engage in Tech Justice Lab website tasks and projects as assigned, including:
Configuring and maintaining webpages and the lab's social media presence.
Managing content and maintaining pages.
Meeting regularly with the Director of the Tech Justice Lab.
Other duties related to the role as needed.
Additional Information
Hours Worked: Applicants should be available to work a maximum of 10 hours per week, typically during the hours of Monday
Friday, 8:00 am
5:00 pm.
Rate of Pay: $10.00/hr
Qualifications
Required:
Minimum 1 year experience developing and managing websites using WordPress, Wix, or a similar platform.
Ability to analyze user needs to implement web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity.
Experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Understanding of filesharing platforms (Google drive, Dropbox).
Must be able to work independently to complete projects in a timely manner.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Exceptional team player with strong time management and a willingness to learn new skills and ideas.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm.
Preferred:
Graphic design, including creating and reconfiguring graphics for the website.
Experience in Photoshop, including photo editing and retouching.
Experience in HTML.
