Student Worker: Student Activities Assistant

Overview:

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking individuals that can assist the Student Activities Office as an Office Assistant and/or in the Game Room as a Game Room Attendant. Both positions require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the willingness to assist fellow students, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Office Assistant Essential Duties:

• Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone

• Assist with Surgecard Production

• Set-up, prep, and assist Student Activities Staff with sponsored events

• Post upcoming event flyers and remove past event flyers throughout the Cincinnati State Campus.

• Aid with special projects and student activities initiatives

• Ability to problem solve

• Office cleaning

• Other duties as assigned

Essential Game Room Attendant Duties:

• Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone

• Ability to work independently

• Monitor play activities in the Game Room

• Verify SurgeCards for all players

• Ensure all gamers sign in and keep track of the Daily Sign-in log

• Safeguard all equipment and put away at the end of your shift

• Clean equipment and area routinely during the day

• Notify Student Activities Staff immediately of damaged equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Students cannot be eligible for the Pell Grant through FAFSA.

• Must meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

• Must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Preferred Qualifications for both positions:

• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate/interact effectively with a diverse population.

• Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, work independently, be a team player.

• Bilingual students preferred to help contribute to lively and collaborative atmosphere, encouraging a sense of belonging for the college community.

• Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities.

Hours: 20 hours per week

Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour
