This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have at least 6 credits. This is a part-time hourly position.

Job Description

This position performs a variety of general office support tasks, assigned by the Director of International Program.

Duties include the following:

  • Assist staff in a variety of assignments where the processing of documents (recording, retrieving, and distribution) of data or information is an essential and/or substantial part of the work.

  • Perform miscellaneous projects in support of Director of International Programs, such as creating Flyers, setting up and posting on social media sites, assisting with events planning, creating Excel spreadsheets and setting up files. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, familiarity with collecting and analyzing data. Ability to set up, post and monitor social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

  • Ability to operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, Ability to create flyers to promote study abroad and international students and global issues.

VIEW JOBS 4/3/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-02T00:00 Job Description Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: * Meet with students on an appointment or walk-in basis to discuss and resolve academic issues * Serve as an advisor for students who are not in good academic standing, which includes frequent meetings to discuss their academic progress along with strategies for success * Support at-risk students who have cumulative GPAs between 2.0 and 2.5 * Meet with students identified through the Freshman Early Warning system; advise them of academic support services * Further develop First Generation programming including activities for First Gen students with faculty and administrative units during the academic year, attendance at orientation sessions and accepted students events * Maintain study plans with all degree requirements for every undergraduate major; update study plans as necessary based on approved changes to curricula each academic year so that degree requirements are accurate * Process excused absence emails by gathering student information from SIS, such as student schedule and instructor contact information * Maintain change of major database; advise students, new and previous advisors of related changes * Process AP credit for incoming freshmen, as needed, advise them of appropriate course selection based on major and AP credits * Coordinate the assignment of all academic advisors for incoming freshmen classes in conjunction with academic departments and Office of Undergraduate Admissions * Maintain office websites * Maintain social media presence to support student success efforts Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Advanced knowledge of Excel is critical * Understanding of student records system * Experience with First Generation Programming * Experience with website management * Experience advising students * Ability to multi-task a must; position will require work on projects while also advising students * Experience with Adobe Acrobat DC preferred Department Undergraduate Student Success General Submission Guidelines: In order to be considered a candidate for any job at Stevens, you must submit an online application.
