Responsible for all aspects of research projects and research facilities. Plans and conducts clinical and non-clinical research; facilitates and monitors daily activities of clinical trials or research projects. Directs engineering and technical support activities to develop and maintain tools and computational methods needed to gather and analyze data.

Utilizes knowledge in game theory, statistical quality control, exponential smoothing, seasonally adjusted trend analysis, or data visualization to gain insights, develop new strategies, and cultivate actionable business intelligence in diverse career tracks across the University.

Responsibilities

The job provides professional support and solves problems in collecting, organizing, and analyzing information from the University's various internal data systems as well as from external sources The job performs data analysis assignments related to data manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling in order to support projects.

  1. Analyzes moderately complex data sets for the purpose of extracting and purposefully using applicable information., 2) Provides professional support to staff or faculty members in defining the project and applying principals of data science in manipulation, statistical applications, programming, analysis and modeling., 3) Cleans, transforms, merges, and matches between large and complex research and administrative datasets. Plans own resources to collect, organize, and analyze information from the University's various internal data systems as well as from external sources., 4) Builds and analyzes statistical models and reproducible data processing pipelines using knowledge of best practices in machine learning and statistical inference. Serves as a single point of contact for all requests and engages other IT resources to assist as needed. May partner with other campus teams to assist faculty with data science related needs., 5) Performs other related work as needed.

Unit-Specific Responsibilities

  1. The Student Systems Analyst, reporting to the Registrar, will serve as an integral member of a team of professionals, who manage registration and registrar functions on behalf of all Chicago Booth programs.
  2. This position will provide system and administrative support, maintain the integrity, accuracy and standardization of current and archived student record data, and monitor operational performance and troubleshoot system problems.
  3. Gain a deep understanding of student data, student policies, and business rules and procedures of the MBA programs and systems and apply that knowledge to investigate and resolve issues and act as an advisor and resource to staff.
  4. Develop and maintain strong working relationships and thrive in a high volume data and quarterly paced environment.
  5. Review and resolve data feed errors. Escalate technical data related issues as appropriate. Track data discrepancies and report on resolution/outcomes.
  6. Maintain student records data with weekly, daily and quarterly analysis and clean-up.
  7. Maintain the quarterly production schedule for the office.
  8. Create and maintain documentation of systems, reports and operational processes.
  9. Serve as the point person for data validation, including enhancements and testing of reports.
  10. Interpret University and Booth policies regarding student record data as needed to maintain data integrity and standards.
  11. Initiate process improvements for reporting, registration, communications and general operations.
  12. Maintain accurate student records while protecting confidentiality and upholding FERPA.
  13. Assist in quarterly registration activities, such as bidding set up, prerequisite management, bulk registration, etc.
  14. Assist in the annual spring convocation ceremony.
  15. Build and maintain the Registrar's Office web-presence on the Booth intranet.
  16. Act as back-up for maintaining non-Booth registration content on the Booth external website.
  17. Respond to email inquiries in a timely manner.
  18. Act as office manager performing tasks such as, maintaining/ordering office supplies and checking the Registrar mailbox.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
