This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Social Media Manager for the Youth Innovators Empowering Agriculture Across America (YEA) - Coordination Network (CN) at Oregon State University.
Under the direction of the YEA-CN staff, you will have the opportunity to support the launch of our social media channels (possibly Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and TikTok). This position will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and creating posts for YEA-CN social media sites, creating engaging content and analyzing the performance of our social media using Google analytics and the social media tools available.
Position Duties
Regularly draft posts within our Social Media coordination platform (SproutSocial) to increase awareness of our programs and create or obtain/document permission to use photos/graphics for these posts.
Maintain and monitor social media posts.
Communicate efficiently and effectively with the Program Manager and the Events and Marketing Coordinator when posts are available for approval.
Use local resources (YEA-CN staff) and the internet to research posting topics, and vet topics provided by others.
Ensure YEA-CN branding standards and tone are met.
Attend meetings and/or trainings needed to perform job duties
Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok
Enthusiasm for social media
Be familiar with social media marketing/success concepts, how to track progress and how to improve performance
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Capable of creating high quality, independent work
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
An awareness of the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing
Ability to monitor (and possibly) respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on our social media channels in a timely and professional manner
Experience managing the social media presence for a professional organization.
