Providence is calling a Student Services Specialist (Providence Learning Institute, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska. In this position you will:
Develop, manage student information database for tracking and reporting amount of hours given for student education.
Manage requests for student opportunities using the Student Experience policies.
Request and manage student access for use through applicable departments, ex: computer logins, Sailpoint, etc.
Assist with coordination of orientation and training for students based on their applicable educational needs. Ex: EPIC, OR Orientation, etc.
Enter and manager Organizations into SailPoint as Sponsor and ULCM.
Review policies pertinent to student experiences with manager.
Answer Education office phone and assist with education inquiries from caregivers and community members.
Arrange appropriate communication and information resources, tools, and channels to ensure regional employees and clinical leaders and clinical participants know of, understand, and are able to access programs and resources.
Maintain student records in compliance with state/federal laws, regulations, accreditation standards and hospital policy.
Verify Student Background checks within State of Alaska the Department of Health of Social Services background check system monthly.
Coordinate and manage the Summer Pre-med/Pre-therapy program, including conducting orientation.
Sit on several regional based advisory boards to provide support and guidance of programs.
Establish and has ongoing relationships with school/program coordinators to enable collaboration on offering the best educational opportunities to students.
Assist with identifying topics and geographic locations for on and/or off site continuing education programs. Coordinates and/or assists with room scheduling, supplies and/or various equipment as needed.
Compose and edits reports and correspondence as necessary.
Manage PI data for student experiences and creates goals.
Assist Education Office Caregivers during leaves of absence or vacations as needed.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
2 years of administrative support experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
Has experience utilizing MS Office.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
1 year experience in contract management.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
