Essential Duties

1.Provides advice and information to students on short and long-term educational and career goals and on available University resources such as financial aid, fellowships, career services and educational programs. 2. Coordinates and oversees a range of processes and programs in such areas as admissions, financial aid, registration, placement, and career services. 3.

Adapts and implements new policies and processes regarding specific areas of specialty; develops, recommends and implements solutions and corrections to policies and processes. 4. Assists in designing, recommending and implementing computer programs and systems for admissions, registration, career services, and financial aid. 5. Processes financial and other transactions, track data, generate and analyze reports. 6.

Assists in the design and development of student publications, communications and program web sites. 7. Ensures all student services and student support functions conform to University policies and guidelines. 8. Monitors, maintains, and ensures accuracy of student records; monitor and track status of students. 9. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position Focus:

Coordinates and oversees a range of processes & programs in such areas as admissions, financial aid, registration, placement, and career services. Responsible for planning and coordinating large events of varying sizes including but not limited to prospective student recruitment weekend, student symposium, seminars, and retreats.

Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and venues. Plans all event details and logistics. Manages event budgets to ensure expenditures are reasonable and appropriate. Ensures all aspects of events run smoothly.

Adapts and implements new policies and processes regarding specific areas of specialty; develops, recommends and implements solutions and corrections to policies and processes. Processes financial and other transactions, track data, generate and analyze reports.

Assists in the design and development of student publications, communications and program web sites. Ensures all student services and student support functions confirm to University policies and guidelines. Monitors, maintains, and ensures accuracy of student records; monitor and track status of students.

May perform other duties.


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree. Previous experience working with college students at a university.

Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience with Yale systems.

Position Focus: This position reports directly to the Principal Investigator in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis and is responsible for the supervision and management of lab assistant(s) as well as the daily operation of labs at two locations. The candidate will perform and function independently as a senior lab manager and provide direct support for all research projects, protocols, and publications. The candidate will manage all research and operational needs, including: Environmental Health and Safety, State Inspections, Facilities, lab assets and services, information technology, material transfer contracts, protocols, regulatory compliance, research databases, shipping, and external collaborations. The candidate may also, with guidance, conduct genetic screenings in bacteria to uncover protein-protein interactions using the Bacterial Two Hybrid (BATCH) system and identify genetic determinants of critical physiological processes using theInSeq platform as needed. The candidate will also write, prepare, and edit content and data visualization for scientificreports, papers, and presentations and coordinate all lab communications(print, technical, and digital). Independently evaluates andcontributes original ideas to the development of complex research projects andscientific content in research proposals, manuscripts, andpublished reports. Collaborates with PI to defineresearch endeavors and the design of research approaches and priorities.Participates in lab meetings and research planning and analyzesscientific conclusions.
