The nationally ranked Integrated Program in Biochemistry (IPiB) is currently the largest PhD program in the Biological Sciences at UW-Madison and is jointly administered by the Departments of Biomolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry, located within the Hector F. Deluca Biochemical Sciences Complex on Henry Mall.

This position, housed within the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry (BMC) of the School of Medicine and Public Health, is primarily responsible for coordinating and managing admissions, recruiting, and other functions for IPiB and is a liaison between BMC, Biochemistry, a second program coordinator housed in Biochemistry and the IPiB Steering Committee. In addition, this position provides critical support and advice to BMC trainees, faculty and committees to assist with BMC academic functions.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 The Substance Abuse Treatment Services Coordinator position acts as the Bureau of Prevention Treatment and Recovery (BPTR) representative in coordination and collaboration with the Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), and other divisions regarding substance abuse evidence-based treatment and best practice approaches. This position provides staffing and coordination to the Intervention and Treatment Committee (ITC) of the State Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (SCAODA) and provision of oversight for development and promulgation of Administrative Rules regarding substance abuse related issues and services, which includes primary responsibility for Community Substance Abuse Service Standards, Group Homes for Substance Abusers and provides interpretation and assistance to various DHS rules and standards workgroups, such as Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), and Caregiver Background Check and Caregiver Client Personal Property Abuse investigations. This position is responsible for the development of policy and issues papers on substance abuse treatment and recovery and coordinates statewide technical assistance and training on DHS Administrative Codes related to substance abuse and federal laws and regulations on client confidentiality, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This position will serve as the primary resource for methamphetamine and other emerging drug abuse and dependency treatment and evidence based practices to counties and provider agencies throughout the state. Additionally, this position will work with DQA on the rehabilitation review process as needed. This position will also provide coordination with the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) to address workforce issues by aligning credentialing to Medicaid reimbursement practice for professional parity, and maintain the integrity and professionalism of the substance abuse counseling field. Special Notes: Due to the nature of this position, all applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Qualifications: Minimally qualified applicants will have: * Experience with evidence-based community substance abuse treatment services (e.g. treatment provider, program manager, clinical supervisor, consultant, etc.). * Experience ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to community substance abuse services standards (e.g. DHS 75, DHS 70, DHS 36, etc.). * Experience developing policy recommendations on substance abuse treatment and recovery or related issues (e.g. writing policy or issue papers, making recommendations for Administrative Rule or other law changes, etc.). * Effective written and oral communication. * The ability to work effectively in a team setting. Well qualified applicants will have: * Training or experience in American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria for substance use disorders. * Experience providing contract administration and managing funds for a service provision. * Experience serving as a leader on committees, councils or workgroups and working with a diverse group of stakeholders, such as Bureau Staff, other Divisions, State Departments, local agencies, and the general public.
