The Student Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. This position serves as a central point of contact for student well-being, mental health services, and behavior management initiatives. The Coordinator will collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure students receive the necessary support for academic success and emotional well-being.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Education, School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field (minimum).
Minimum of two years of experience working with students in a school setting.
Proven experience in coordinating and managing student support services.
Strong understanding of child development and positive behavior interventions.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Areas of Responsibility:
Liaison to the Department of Child Services: Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Department of Child Services to ensure timely and appropriate interventions for students in need.
Mental Health Services Coordinator: Oversee the coordination of mental health services for students, including referrals, program development, and resource allocation.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Management: Maintain and update Memorandums of Understanding with approved mental health providers.
Student Training and Education Programs: Coordinate the development and implementation of required student training and education programs, fostering a positive school climate and promoting student success.
District Student Behavior Specialist:
Provide professional development for classroom teachers on effective student behavior management strategies.
Offer professional development to PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) Instructional Assistants.
Develop and implement strategies for communication with chronically absent students and their parents/guardians.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Knowledge and Experiences with Current Educational Neuroscience Research and Classroom Applications
State licensure or certification in School Counseling or a related field (may be required).
Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws pertaining to student support services.
Physical and Mental Efforts:
This position requires a high level of physical and mental endurance.
Sitting in an office/classroom environment, performing tasks on a computer or other technical devices.
Frequent standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.
Frequent walking, moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one part of the building to another.
Constantly talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas to colleagues and/or students accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Ability to hear and listen to detailed information through oral communication.
Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision.
Ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.

Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
197-day contract
8:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday; often working beyond these hours in support of students and staff.
Frequent attendance of special events, school-sponsored activities, functions, community and public opportunities, often held in the evenings and on weekends.
Local travel within Lebanon and surrounding school districts may be required.
