Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Student Services Analyst (Short-Term)- Basic Needs Analyst. This position is responsible for coordinating the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Career Advancement Network (SNAP CAN) Education and Training, Student Early Alert, and Care activities at EMCC. This position provides program coordination including but not limited to marketing and recruiting and providing basic levels of academic advising, career coaching, and academic support for program participants and referrals to basic needs resources. This position has oversight for monthly case management and connecting students with additional financial and academic support resources as needed. Additionally, the Program Analyst handles tracking and reporting of student enrollment and outcomes, support services provided, performance, and related measures. The position works with data from a variety of sources to create detailed reports. This position works with a wide variety of internal and external partners, including administrators, faculty, staff, and representatives from external organizations.

Additional Information

This position does not qualify for remote work and will be 100% in-person.

Essential Functions

50% - Promotes and coordinates campus participation in the SNAP CAN program in collaboration with campus stakeholders. Creates systems and processes for marketing, recruiting, student enrollment, data tracking, student services referrals, and reports on program metrics and deliverables, in close collaboration with administration, faculty, and staff. Prepares and submits monthly reports and invoices for reimbursement of SNAP CAN activities to appropriate agencies and maintains quality and validity of records for reporting and annual audits. Acquires and compiles data related to student progress and creates and maintains databases/spreadsheets. Serves as the single point of contact for all student, employee, and faculty inquiries and requests related to basic needs support.

40% - Provides response and support to student early alert and care reporting system inquiries and submissions. Provides support and follow-up, tracking, referral, and documentation of supports and services provided. Reports on early alert and care reporting services and follow ups and provides student enrollment and progress tracking. Works with stakeholders on campus to promote a positive and supportive learning environment to maximize student success. Serves as a single point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding early alert and care reports and provides updates to college administration.

10% - Serves as liaison between campus, district, and affiliated agencies related to basic needs, early alert, and care support. Researches and analyzes local reports/information, identifying emerging trends and recommendations for program participants. Documents in a report format SNAP CAN, Early Alert, and Care Report program progression, development, and outcomes to the Dean of Students Office. Participates in approved professional development related to basic needs, early alert, and care reporting. Other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher

  • Experience working with diverse populations

  • Experience developing tracking metrics and report writing

  • Experience providing basic needs support in a higher education setting

  • Communication in Spanish (speaking and writing)

  • Experience working with external and community organizations to support student success

  • Three (3) years or more experience providing in-person and virtual customer service in a higher education setting
