TCS Education System is seeking a Student Retention Counselor to join the Admissions and Enrollment Services Student Engagement department.
The Student Retention Counselor's provide on-going retention support to current students to create a more impactful matriculation cycle. The Student Retention Counselors are responsible for providing retention services to current student target populations. This included students with outstanding financial aid qualification needs, contingent students, and administrative follow-up and student support campaigns.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assess and monitor/track individual student's admissions and academic progression through CRM and student databases.
Effectively communicate with individuals using excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills in order to positively impact student retention efforts.
Maintain communication with the other departments like Admissions, Administration, Academics and Financial Aid to enhance the process of Admissions and establish positive team relationship between departments.
Provide assistance to students on procedural processes and responsibilities necessary to satisfy academic requirements to satisfy outstanding admissions contingencies and completion of financial aid process.
Provide regular updates to affiliate Student Services, Academics and Student Accounts departments if criteria have been met by the student to release academic holds for course registration or billing hold.
Follows up with students to help ensure that they are aware and taking advantage of the available tools and resources offered on campus.
Document all communication and records utilizing student databases, campus portals and other systems.
Assist the Senior Director in the development and implementation of a retention plan designed to assist affiliate partner students in progressing towards degree completion.
Serve as back-up to Student Engagement Counselors taking on SEC initiatives and campaign during ramp up period. Work with potential students through admissions funnel, fielding general request for information across all TCS Education System affiliate colleges and connect them with appropriate college admissions department as identified.
Acts as affiliate colleges resource for readmission when necessary by partnering with Admissions on individual students' issues and concerns.
The Student Retention Counselor may participate in campus-based events, handle activities of student life, establish professional relationships with students and other employees.
The Student Retention Counselor may be assigned staggered work hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of a diverse student population.

Bachelor's degree required.
Must have at minimum 1 year of higher education experience, preferably in admissions, financial aid, or student accounts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with Campus Vue and Salesforce.
Previous customer service experience preferred.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
The ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time to various affiliate locations.
