The Eberly College of Science (ECoS) Undergraduate Research Program is a 10-week summer research program designed to give motivated Penn State undergraduates in the college the opportunity to engage in full-time research, under the supervision of faculty, and related professional development activities from May 28 - August 2, 2019. Student will conduct research.

The program also requires participation in weekly research and professional development seminars, periodic social events, and a final poster session. Though all ECoS undergraduates are encouraged to apply, ideal candidates are students: in their first and second year or who have changed campuses; with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; without significant research experience, e.g., a full-time summer research experience or 2 semesters of part-time research; not in the Schreyer Honors College; willing to commit to research with the same mentor after the summer program; and interested in conducting research with Eberly College of Science faculty mentors.

Piazza Center for Research and Reform and Special Assistant to the Vice President, Student Affairs is responsible for the strategic direction and coordination of various activities of the newly established research center, including frequent interactions with staff, faculty, and researchers at Penn State as well as from universities across the country. The position is responsible for the fiscal management of the Center, including planning, budgeting, and fundraising. The position will interact with donors, foundations, higher education associations, and campus administrators. The position reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and will oversee the Center's leadership committee and work with the project director regarding the center's research agenda. Further, the position will have Student Affairs fundraising responsibilities. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, be self-motivated, and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and activities and be supportive of the diversity and inclusion initiatives. Experience in fraternity and sorority life is required for this role. This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2020 with excellent possibility of re-funding.
