The job leads and provides expertise on developing strategies, policies, and procedures for admissions, recruitment, or both. Leads recruiting efforts by monitoring the interview and applicant evaluation process; will also support admissions efforts by reviewing applicants selected for admission.
Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Evening Master's Program to achieve enrollment goals.
Oversee the recruitment process (pre-enrollment process) to attract potential applicants.
Oversee outbound prospect development and lead the development and execution of recruitment strategies for our evening program (pre-enrollment strategies).
Develop strategy and execute specialized events for targeted recruiting (Marketing, Entrepreneurship, etc.).
Design and develop outbound digital, phone, and in-person recruitment strategies and long-term enrollment goals for the Evening Master's Program for multiple cohort starts per year.
Develop relationships with and advise prospective students via Zoom, phone, email and in-person meetings.
Continually improve processes associated with these activities to improve prospective student yield and satisfaction.
Develop strategies to increase awareness of the Evening Master's Program with private, public and non-profit organizations for fully or partially funded students.
Develop and lead an extensive number of recruitment events to increase awareness of degree and non-degree programs that generate applications to meet recruitment targets.
Regularly conduct a competitive analysis of peer institutions and the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
Facilitate relationships with business, government, and nonprofit leaders in the community.
Identify educational needs of the various sectors and external organizations that would supply students.
Manage and lead outreach activities resulting from interest to commitment.
Collaborate with the digital marketing partners; execute and curate social media outreach.
Recruit qualified prospects into the applicant pool through Harris hosted events including, but not limited to, information sessions, lunch and learns, and receptions across the country.
Facilitate personal connections between students, alumni and prospective students.
Track outreach and interactions in Slate, our prospect management system.
Create partnerships with organizations to increase scholarships and financial aid.
Oversee application review, admissions committee, scholarship committee, and decision release.
Manage a high volume of outreach to prospective students via phone, email, and in person meetings.
Respond to and forward email and phone inquiries to appropriate staff, ensuring quick and informative responses to prospective students and others contacting the office.
Develop and implement various culturally appropriate prospective student recruitment events.
Coordinate events and projects for prospective students at Harris' downtown Chicago location.
Willing to be present at evening and/or weekend programs, activities and meetings.
Driver's license and willing to travel regionally and nationally (ownership of a vehicle is not required).
Manages the planning and implementation of public presentations, special events, and other recruitment activities.
Maintains relationships with all organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. Develops and monitors the admissions budget.
Recommends plans to increase brand awareness and alumni engagement as it relates to the College's admissions in the relevant region. Develops relationships with high schools and school counselors in the area. Leads planning for and attends yield events, information sessions, and college fairs.
Provides expertise to expand outreach messaging via alumni clubs and special events and/or reunions. Maintains updated alumni contact records and cultivates new contacts in appropriate industries. Manages portfolio of prospective students that require special handling.
Manages regional event programming such as receptions and career trek field trips for students. Works independently to expand outreach to employers in the region.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of Slate, Salesforce, or other database technologies and Microsoft Office, as well as ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Familiarity with Zoom or other communication platforms.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Discretion and customer service orientation.
Work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
Effectively present information in one-on-one settings, as well as in small and large group situations, to a variety of audiences.
Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all information, files, and records.
Coordinate the assignments of student workers, graduate research assistants, and temporary employees.
Work with students from diverse backgrounds, including adult learners, and non-traditional students.
Superior organizational and project management skills.
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends for recruitment events.
Willing and able to travel for recruitment events.
