The Office of Student Volunteerism (OSV) at the University of Texas at Dallas empowers students to become lifelong, actively engaged global leaders who seek to understand, advocate, and respond to community issues and needs. We build high-impact volunteer service experiences that offer students the opportunity to learn about critical social issues and contribute their time and talents in a meaningful way.
The Program Coordinator will serve as a Responsible University Official (RUO) for on and off-campus service projects and leadership events, manage the OSV Student Leaders, and assist with the coordination and facilitation of events, programs, and special projects such as: Alternative Spring Break, VolunTemoc, the UT Dallas Community Garden program, recurring events programming, and freshman engagement programming.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree.
One (1) or more years related work experience.
An equivalent level of education and/or experience is acceptable.
Preferred Education and Experience
Graduate coursework in higher education, Student Affairs, or related field.
One or more years of professional experience in service program development and implementation in a higher education setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop volunteer projects that educate, connect and empower UT Dallas students.
Serve as a Responsible University Official (RUO) for on and off-campus service projects and leadership events.
Assist with the coordination and facilitation of events, programs, and special projects such as: Alternative Spring Break, VolunTemoc, UT Dallas Community Garden program, recurring events program, freshman engagement programming, etc.
Hire, train, and manage OSV Student Leaders. Monitor job performance through weekly meetings and bi-annual evaluations. Create development opportunities to promote life skills and job readiness.
Create and manage promotional and marketing strategies including print, social media, and website development.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information
Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
