Job Summary
We are searching for an innovative and experienced individual to assist in the execution of robust programs, events, and initiatives that support campus involvement and sense of belonging amongst University of Kentucky students. Program and initiative delivery include organizational and programmatic support, event risk management for delivery of effective and safe programs and events, training and development centering around student success, evaluation and assessment of programs/events/initiatives, budget management, implementation and creation of involvement experience, cultivation of relationships with campus partners and students on campus, supervision, and more. Housed in the Office of Student Organizations and Activities and the Office of Student Success, responsibilities of the Assistant Director include:
Advising students and student organizations including DanceBlue including but not limited to:
Advisement of 11 student chairs and oversight of 150+ student committee
Oversight and execution support on large scale events such as DanceBlue 5K, DanceBlue U, DanceBlue Marathon, DanceBlue Silent Auction, and other events hosted by the DanceBlue Student Organization
Administrative support and management of financials, fundraising, operations/purchases,
contract negotiation, etc.
Welcome Week (K-Week) Program/Events planning, coordination, and execution
Guiding students as they connect with involvement
opp01tunities and other campus resources on campus
involvement experience through the development of
student involvement programs, events, trainings, and
workshops, that focuses on developing connections,
experiences, and skills
through the SOA Summit and associated workshops
Activities, Dean of Students, the Office for Student
Success, and the holistic UK campus
navigate their unique involvement experience for a
campus of over 34,000 students
Supervision of the Involvement Advising Program
Creation and execution of a leadership retreat for the
major fee funded organizations within Student
Organizations and Activities
Procedures with registered student
organizations.
the Lead Blue ceremony.
Student Organizations and Activities by supporting
operations around projects such as but not limited to:
SOA Summit
SOA Workshops
Lead Blue Ceremony
SOA Committees
SOA Programming and Large Events
Volunteering with collaborative campus partners
Due to the nature of the work associated with this role,
occasional night and weekend coverage may be
necessary.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes Preferred Education/Experience
Master's in higher education, student personnel/student development; leadership education, community leadership, or related fields of study.
