Job Summary: Serves as primary point of contact for students from application to graduation providing information and services.
Minimum Required Education:
- Associate's degree or a combination of experience and education that yields the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Minimum Required Experience:
- Two years general administrative support
- Preferred: Work experience in higher education
Required Abilities:
- Ability to be detail-oriented.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to set priorities, manage time, meet deadlines, and multi-task with minimal supervision. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and other standard office equipment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to think critically and apply appropriate problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
- Ability to interpret and abide by the policies and procedures of Hill College.

Required Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of general admissions, registration and financial policies, procedures and practices. Comply with federal and state regulations.
- Working knowledge of the Hill College vision and mission.
- Working knowledge of data base systems, Docubase, Apply Texas and SPEEDE systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists students with applications for admission, scholarships, financial aid and/or graduation. Utilizes professional judgment as related to processing of overrides, dependency decisions, special circumstances and/or conditional admission.
- Creates and maintains student educational and/or financial records.
- Contacts applicants regarding next steps such as choice of major, degree plan, testing, residency and/or file completion.
- Assists with the evaluation of student transcripts and data entry of transcripts and/or transfer credits.
- Serves as the liaison between students and the college in the academic planning and appeals process, including responsibility for reviewing and making decisions on plans and appeals.
- Identifies and refers International, Veteran, athletic, scholarship, financial aid and other identifiable population students to the appropriate Coordinator or the Academic Advising and Success Center.
- Conducts initial advising and registration assistance by introducing students to advisors, clearing completed students for online registration and instructing in the use of MyRebel.
- Monitors current students' satisfactory academic progress, identifies potential academic problems and makes referrals to the Academic Advising and Success Center as necessary.
- Assists in the graduation process.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and other constituents.

Other Information:
- Weekend and evening work required during designated times.
- Travel to other Hill College Campuses as needed.
- Serves on institutional committees and workgroups as directed.
- Must have valid Texas driver's license.
- Security sensitive position.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Light work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work.
