Dewberry is seeking a Student Intern in Architecture in our Peoria, IL office. This position will work under the close supervision of the project architect/manager. Specific and detailed instructions regarding architectural tasks will be provided. Must take the initiative to either work out or research a work effort with the understanding of own capabilities and when to seek help from supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production of construction documents including materials research and detail development.

  • Assist in code analysis on assigned projects.

  • Assist designers and project architects in conceptual design on assigned projects.

  • Assist in construction phase shop drawing review and assembly of requests for proposals, change orders and closeout documentation.

  • Assist project architect in developing preliminary specifications, material, product selection and research.

  • Assist in production standards.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Must currently be pursuing a degree in Architecture

  • Strong understanding of CADD, REVIT, and Adobe Suite is required

  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills

  • Prior internship experience a plus.

The extern will assist the surgeon during the operative procedure by maintaining inventory, passing instruments and supplies, and holding retractors. Cleans operating room and stores equipment and supplies. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served (newborn through geriatric). REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s). This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served. * Employee must have completed a clinical rotation and is within two semesters of completion of their surgical technologist program. * Work requires approximately one to three months on the job experience necessary in order to acquire necessary familiarity with surgeons' preferences, be able to accurately identify large volumes of surgical instruments and supplies, and gain knowledge of unit policies and procedures. * Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; and to communicate effectively with other patient care providers. * Work requires analytical ability necessary to prioritize work load.
