Entergy's Asset Management Department will hire one (1) year-round intern, or two (2) co-op students working alternate semesters, studying Electrical or Computer Engineering and who will be commencing the 2nd semester of the Sophomore year of school, or have recently enrolled in graduate studies, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to work in the Relay Field Operation Support group at the Transmission Headquarter Building which is located in Jackson, Mississippi.

Duties include:

Work with engineers within the Relay Field Operations Support group as well as other workgroups/departments. Predominant duties include relay modeling, supporting databases, aiding with fault clearing time analysis, providing compliance support for engineers to develop corrective actions resulting from condition reports on deficient processes/procedures or improper protective system performance, and assisting with "extent of condition" identification for errant system protection incidents. Other duties may include entering data into databases, utilizing spreadsheets, developing macros in spreadsheets, working with sequel server databases, collecting data from various sources for individuals involved with "data mining" research, participating in project meetings, developing presentations, performing electrical circuit calculations, plus learning various power system information and programs.

Additional duties periodically may include work in the THQ real time simulator lab and relay lab as well as perform work on research projects. The day to day activities may include wiring electronic equipment, using various test equipment, developing drawings in AutoCAD, assisting engineers in performing tests, developing test reports, obtaining equipment information from manufacturers, gathering various data from various sources, working with students and professors from various universities, developing EMTP models, running Aspen short circuit studies, running real time closed loop transient simulations, and running open loop transient simulations.
